Bold columns, arched windows, and brick facade combine to create a causal and tasteful exterior on the Jamison, a ranch house plan filled with a combination of formal and informal gathering spaces. Built-in planters help to add a natural feel and contemporary flavor to this one story house plan.
Vaulted ceilings add a sense of openness and grandeur to the formal living and dining rooms. Widely spaced columns between these two rooms provide some visual separation as well as support for the shelves above. The shelves can be used to house plants or family mementos. Just around the corner from the dining room is a small half bath, conveniently located between the main gathering areas.
Day-to-day living occurs within the spacious family room. This open-style living space also includes a window-rich nook and large kitchen. Not only does the kitchen feature a central work island but it also has an angled eating bar with additional counter space and a prep sink. A short hallway leads to the dining room which can be closed off from the activities of the kitchen by a pocket door.
The utility room and large walk-in pantry are nearby. On the opposite side of the kitchen and across the nook a glass door provides access to the covered deck which would make a great outdoor dining area on nice summer evenings.
Bedrooms fill the left side of the home. At the front are two secondary bedrooms that share a jack-n-jill style bathroom. The bedroom nearest the front door can also be converted to a home office or den with the optional French doors. The owners' suite fills the back of the bedroom wing and is accessed through another set of French doors. In addition to having a well-furnished bathroom complete with soaking tub and generous walk-in closet, the Jamison's owners' suite has its own access to the back deck.
