A-Frame house plan, the Chinook, is a vacation cottage with a large bay of windows that enable you to take in the natural surroundings. This rustic cabin offers approximately 1200 square feet of living space.
While the log exterior lends to the rustic look this design is also available in 2x6 conventional construction. The metal roof and ample windows add a contemporary feel to this design. Along with the attractiveness, the metal roof gives extra protection to the home in case of fire.
The four-high stacked windows provide lots of natural light, even on an overcast day. This area is open to the second floor and a sliding glass door provides access to a large deck that spans the rear exterior.
A wood stove located in the front corner provides fuel efficient heating on chilly days, in any season.
The galley kitchen is larger than you would expect in a home of this size. The refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and sink are efficiently placed and an eating bar provides additional counter space. The utility room is close by, hidden behind folding doors in a hallway that leads outside.
Upstairs, is a large loft, and a bunk room. Attic storage is available on either side of this room, as well as to the right of the loft. This storage room is large enough to be used as additional living space if need be.
