A symphony of textures combine on the front façade of the Zenia, a modern home plan. Designed for a lot that slopes towards the back, the Zenia provides room to grow with it’s unfinished, daylight basement.
Brick frames the front door which is filled with glass allowing natural light to fill the foyer. A coat closet is to your right and the stairs that take you to the basement level are to the left. Off the entry hall is the full bathroom which is filled with storage cabinets, dual vanities, walk-in shower and soaking tub.
Continuing down the entry hall another passageway intersects which provides access to the two bedrooms. To the right, a smaller bedroom still offers space for a desk and sitting area. To the right is the master bedroom complete with walk-in closet and private access to the deck.
The rear of the home is filled with informal gathering areas. The open-concept floor plan allows the kitchen, dining room and living room to blend together with only visual transitions between the spaces. The kitchen is a comfortable size and offers modern amenities in addition to a work island with an eating bar. This space is ideal for quick mid-week meals or a place to serve snacks when entertaining family or friends. Through the dining room is the main access to the side, covered terrace perfect for expanding the living area outside when the weather is nice. On the right side of the two-sided fireplace is the living room. Filled with windows to take advantage of any mountain, lake, or river view.
The walk-out basement expands the possibilities of this small house plan. A set of sliding doors allows the basement to open up to the outdoors and can be finished according to the homeowners’ desires and needs.
