From the exterior the Ripley looks like a standard, one story cabin plan. Graced with natural finishes and bright windows the Ripley has all the appearances of a Craftsman home plan. However once you walk through the entry the Ripley feels like a modern update.
Standing in the entry you immediate must choose, up or down. This split entry home has the main living a few steps above the entry, elevating the rooms to better take in any views the home’s location has. Choose the longer set of stairs and you will find yourself in the basement. Filled with potential this area can be finished according to the homeowners’ desires and lifestyle needs.
Back on the main level, the right side of this cabin plan is filled with the great room. Kitchen, dining room and living room flow together seamlessly. The kitchen is well appointed for a small home plan and is furnished with modern appliances in addition to the generous sized island complete with eating bar. This makes an ideal location for quick snacks or additional seating while entertaining.
On the other side of the island, the dining room is bright from windows on two walls. One of the walls features a sliding glass door that opens up to a small stoop which leads down to the back yard where the outdoor living possibilities are endless. In the front of the great room is the living room.
The left side of the Ripley makes up the sleeping area. Outfitted with two bedrooms, one is larger than the other and can serve as the master bedroom which also has the bonus of having two closets. A full bathroom is nearby and features a separate walk-in shower, soaking tub, toilet, single vanity along with the washer and dryer.
This unique home plan is a great choice for those looking for a cabin in a natural setting or a small house plan to build on a compact urban lot.
